Atlanta in BOTOX® & Dysport - Injectable Wrinkle Treatment
Neurotoxins are a prescription medication used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles, specifically the forehead, glabella (aka the 11s in between the brows), lateral eye area known as the crow’s feet, and upper lip. Neurotoxins can also be used in the armpits to reduce sweating. BOTOX®®, Dysport, and Xeomin®® are FDA-approved for the most requested treatment areas of the face.

What Can Wrinkle-Smoothing Injectables Do?
We develop lines and wrinkles due to facial muscles that work daily to control our expressions. Neurotoxins act as communication disrupters between the nerve inputs and the muscles. This allows the muscle to relax and take a vacation from sensory input, and the decreased muscle contraction allows the skin to become smoother in appearance.
What Happens During Your Injectable Appointment?
You will talk to your provider about your areas of concern. We will take photos and discuss your anatomy and options, working with your budget to determine the best value and treatment. If you decide to treat, we will provide you with informed consents. The injections themselves are relatively quick to administer.
Very small amounts of your botulinum solution are injected with a tiny needle into the muscles of the concerned areas. Injections take only a few minutes to perform. Dose considerations are dependent on muscle strength, metabolism, daily medications, and activity level, and results are driven by appropriate dosing. Your provider will discuss your suggested dosing with you at your free consultation.

Get a 'Brow Wow with Neurotoxin Treatment
Everyone loves a lifted brow. We recommend combining your neurotoxin treatment with Ultherapy™ for a super smooth brow. Ultherapy tightens the deep tissue of the skin, uses safe ultrasound technology, and helps to tighten the forehead. When Ultherapy is combined with a neurotoxin, the brows are lifted in a very natural, non-surgical way. The combination gives you the ‘Brow Wow!

How long do the results last?
The average length of time is 90-120 days in the neuroreceptor. Treating quarterly is recommended to keep your areas smooth. The different manufacturers have rewards programs to participate in and get retreatment coupons.
Are injectables safe?
Most people respond with no adverse reaction. If you have any issues with ALS in your family, history of allergy to cow’s milk protein, history of difficulty swallowing or a history of muscle weakness, let your provider know.
Are there any medical reasons why I should not have neurotoxin injections?
Yes, please let your provider know if you have any medical history of nerve or muscle disease, history of allergy to botulinum toxins, history of bleeding, history of drooping of eyelids, history of slow heart rate, or are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Let your provider know if you are on any blood thinning medications. Some patients prepare with Arnica supplements which are herbal supplements that help reduce bruising. If at all possible, limit aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (such as ibuprofen) for about a week before injection.
Is it true that neurotoxins can limit underarm perspiration?
Absolutely! Neurotoxins are a great way to reduce perspiration in patients with overly active sweat glands. Generally, the underarm area is treated. The results last 3-4 months.
What is the average cost of the injections?
Prices range by treated area. Most injections are in the range of $250 per area. Cost of treatment of the axilla for sweating should be discussed with your provider.
Can neurotoxins be combined with fillers?
Absolutely! Smoothing lines and wrinkles are a fantastic combination with lifting and volumizing cheeks, enhancing lips, and filling lines in the lower face. Don’t forget those hands! Filling your hands to showcase your jewelry and manicure is amazing!
