HALO™ – The Secret to Reversing Time

Sciton’s HALO profractional laser skin resurfacing treatment provides patients with a noticeable improvement in both their skin tone and texture! Long term sun exposure, active lifestyle and the wear and tear of everyday living results in visible signs of skin aging, including wrinkles, discoloration, age spots, scars and laxity.

What is HALO?

HALO is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser (HFL), meaning it applies both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone. Ablative fractional laser resurfacing removes aged tissue, while non-ablative causes thermal injury and tissue coagulation. What does this mean for you? Maximized results with minimized downtimes.

How much time does it take to undergo HALO?

The laser treatment itself can range anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area(s). For example, a patient receiving HALO to the Face, Neck, and Décolleté would be closer to an hour, while only a treatment to the Face would be closer to 30 minutes. Regardless, we still advise patients to arrive an hour before treatment to place a numbing agent onto the areas of treatment. Or, if the patient prefers, we can call in the numbing agent to their local pharmacy and they can arrive already numb.

Is laser skin resurfacing a painful procedure?

To maximize comfort, we advise the use of a numbing agent so that patients enjoy a much more pleasurable treatment. Therefore, you will feel minimal to no discomfort during the treatment. After the treatment, the discomfort you will feel is similar to moderate sunburn.

What results can I expect?

You will see improvements in the appearance of skin in addition to significant removal of discoloration, improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity and glow.

How many laser treatments will I need?

We offer consultations so you and our Senior Laser Nurse (Renee Cooper) can decide how many treatments will provide you with the best results! You can have one or two deeper treatments or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.

Can I Return to Normal Activities After Treatment?

Absolutely! For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to instructions, but after that you will be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, your skin will begin to peel, and that may take up to 5 days depending upon your level of treatments. You will be able to put on makeup after 2 days.
