The Power of Ultherapy
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is an FDA-approved non-invasive procedure created to lift and tighten the skin without surgical intervention. Its benefits include defining your facial contours, lifting the skin along the brow, and smoothing wrinkles on the neck and décolletage.
Ultherapy works by using a handpiece called Ulthera that delivers time-tested focused ultrasound energy, allowing it to bypass the skin’s surface and deliver the necessary amount of ultrasound energy to the foundational layers of the skin. The ultrasound waves trigger the body’s new skin cells and collagen production. It is safe for all skin types and tones and requires no downtime.
What To Expect From A Ultherapy Procedure
Ultherapy treatments are generally painless. However, it’s normal to feel small amounts of ultrasound energy while the skin is being treated. To alleviate any discomfort, we can apply a topical numbing agent before the start of your treatment. However, most patients find this to be unnecessary.
Are you a good candidate for Ultherapy?
A good candidate for Ultherapy is anyone who would like to address signs of mild to moderate skin laxity and those who would like to pursue non-surgical treatments. It is safe for all skin types and tones, including darker complexion, as it poses low to zero risks of causing hyperpigmentation.
Discover Laser Treatments
What is laser skin tightening?
Laser skin tightening is another non-surgical treatment for skin tightening using laser or infrared light. It can target signs of aging on the face, neck, and other body areas, including the jawline, neck, and chest. The laser light helps carefully heat the skin’s structural layers to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin while causing minimal damage and no downtime. At the Spa at NAPS, we utilize Sciton’s Halo profractional laser treatments to improve the skin’s tone and texture.
Halo applies ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same treatment zone. The ablative fraction laser removed aged tissue, while the non-ablative caused the heated injury and tissue coagulation, resulting in tighter, healthier skin.
What To Expect From A Halo Procedure
The laser treatment takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the area(s) being treated. Any discomfort can be reduced with a topical numbing agent applied before the treatment. After the treatment, the feeling is comparable to a moderate sunburn which should resolve within a few hours or over the next few days.
Is Laser Skin Tightening The Right treatment For you?
The best candidates for Halo treatments are men or women of all skin types and ethnicities concerned with visible signs of aging, texture, dark spots, or fine lines and wrinkles.
Which Treatment Is Best For You?
When it comes to lifting and tightening the skin around the face and neck, Ultherapy is the more popular option. Laser treatments will also work, but with Halo, you can target hyperpigmentation, scarring, age spots, and much more. Ultimately, to find out the best option for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Alderman at the Spa at NAPS, where she can thoroughly evaluate your skin and discuss your areas of concern. You will gain plenty of information about both procedures, see past results, and discuss other treatment options that best fit your needs.
